Aladja Grammar School Marks 50th Anniversary

All is now set for Aladja Grammar School to hold the 50th anniversary of the School located at Aladja Town in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
As part of the anniversary programme, the Old Students Association has outlined activities to celebrate the anniversary.
Addressing newsmen at the NUJ Press Centre Warri, the national president of Aladja Grammar School Old Students Association, Mr. Andrew Okrakene said that the 50th anniversary remains a time for reflection, appreciation and to anticipate for a brighter future of excellence, character building and community engagement.
Okrakene noted that in the past 50 years, Aladja Grammar School has served as a beacon of learning, shaping the lives of countless students and making significant contributions to the society.
He outlined some of the achievements of the school in the past 50 years, which includes sound academic and good character as well as disciplined students that have contributed meaningfully to the development of the society.
Okrakere stated that Aladja Grammar School started from a humble beginning in 1974 to become a leading institution in Udu Local Government Area for being the first secondary school and expressed confidence for positive growth.
“We are proud of our long history of academic achievements. We will hold a grand reunion gala where our esteemed alumni will have the opportunity to reconnect and share their success stories, showcasing the profound impact Aladja Grammar School has had on their lives”.
He disclosed that there would be lectures featuring guest speakers and leaders of thoughts on the future of education with special focus on Aladja Grammar School in the 21st Century.
“In this 50th Anniversary, a communicative book will be published, a documentary of the history of Aladja Grammar School that will highlight the achievements of the school. Awards will also be given to some old students that projected the school”
He affirmed that the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will be Special Guest of Honour, while Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive will be Guest of Honour at the occasion.
The chairman of the anniversary committee of 50th anniversary of Aladja Grammar School, Chief Dr. Henry Sakpra stated that the three days programme would feature an interactive session with current students, lecture featuring distinguished speakers, Prof. G. G Darah, Prof. Jomata Igben, Prof. Godfrey Akpojotor and Mr. Edewor Egedegbe and the anniversary activity would be rounded up with thanksgiving service at Holy Trinity African Church, Aladja.
