Sixteen indigent Delta pupils have been offered scholarship in commemoration of the 74th birth anniversary of Deaconess Mrs Cecilia Odogbor.
Mrs Odogbor, is mother of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Mass Mobilization, Pst Dr Vincent Udume Odogbor.
The celebrant, sponsored 11 of the pupils while her son, Dr Vincent Odogbor sponsored 5 of the indigent pupils drawn from Uvwie, Warri South and Isoko South Local Government Areas of the state.
Son of the celebrant, Pastor Odogbor disclosed this, on Sunday, while hosting family, friends and church members at his residence in Warri.
According to him, Mama Odogbor believes that education is the key to a bright future and assisting young pupils especially Deltans, is a way of creating a pathway for a brighter future.
Pastor Odogbor said: “Mamo as she is fondly called, is always eager to see people happy, hence making more pupils happy will make Mamo also happy.
“Mamo is sponsoring 11 of the beneficiaries and in my capacity I am supporting her with 5 others bringing the total number to 16 beneficiaries.
“Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda centers on giving more value to Deltans, hence this is another opportunity to make that a reality in the lives of Deltans.
“On behalf of my family and siblings, we congratulate our dear mum on attaining 74 years of great accomplishments in life.”
