Udu Council Approves Critical Road Repairs And Sweeping Initiative Across Udu Communities
…..To Engage 200 Sweepers
Udu, Delta State – August 15, 2024: The Udu Local Government Council has taken significant strides towards enhancing both infrastructure and human capital development within Udu Communities. During its inaugural Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held today, 15th August 2024, and presided over by the Executive Chairman, Olorogun (Hon) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA, several critical projects were approved.
Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Henry Ubus in company of the supervisor for finance, Omoko Vincent and supervisor for works, Andrew Dokie briefed newsmen on the resolutions reached. Among the key infrastructural projects approved were emergency repairs of Usiefurun Junction Road, Orhuwhorun Town and Aladja road by the Army post, Aladja, including fixing the bad portion at Cross and Stop of the Udu Dsc express road in Ekete Town.
In addition to infrastructure, the Council also demonstrated its commitment to environmental cleanliness and job creation by approving the engagement of 200 women across Udu Federal Wards 1 to 10. These women will be tasked with sweeping the streets in various communities within the Local Government Area and will receive monthly stipends.
Furthermore, the Council approved the purchase of computers and photocopiers for various departments to ensure the administrative functions of the council are carried out efficiently and effectively and in order to adopt administrative best practices.
This series of approvals marks a decisive step forward in the new administration’s efforts to foster development and improve the quality of life for residents of the Udu Local Government Area in line with the MORE AGENDA INITIATIVE of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
