Orugbo Applauds Oborevwori’s First Year, Highlights Developmental Achievements
By Henry Ubus
As Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori celebrates one year in office as Delta State Executive Governor, Chief (Hon.) Oghene-aga Andrew Orugbo, Chairman of the Governing Council at Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe Oghara, has extended his congratulations. In a recent statement made in Udu, Orugbo highlighted the significant transformation witnessed in the state over the past year, attributing it to the developmental strides of a proactive governor.
Orugbo commended Governor Oborevwori for his purposeful leadership, which has positively steered the state along a progressive developmental path. He noted that the Oborevwori administration has effectively utilized taxpayer money to provide essential infrastructure that directly benefits the citizens.
“This administration has made significant strides in infrastructural development, fulfilling promises such as the payment of promotion arrears to civil servants, pension payments to local government pensioners, and other campaign promises,” Orugbo said.
He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori was well-prepared to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Delta State. Numerous road projects are ongoing, with several already completed. The ongoing N78 billion flyover project in Warri and Effurun is particularly noteworthy, bolstering public confidence in the administration.
Governor Oborevwori has also employed over 2,500 teaching and non-teaching staff across 22 of the 25 local government areas in Delta State. He has fulfilled his promise of timely student bursary payments and has illuminated Warri, Effurun, and surrounding areas with LED solar-powered street lights. The administration’s commitment to lighting other parts of the state continues.
Furthermore, over 5,000 Deltans have benefited from the M.O.R.E Grant Scheme, a key element of the human capital development initiatives under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
This statement serves as a testament to the positive impact of Governor Oborevwori’s first year in office.
