Okowa administration has done well in Delta’s housing sector – Clark
The Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Housing Development, Hon. Ebikeme Clark has said no administration in Delta has achieved as much as the present administration in the Housing sector.
Hon Clark stated this while speaking on a live Delta TV Asaba programme TV Guest.
He outlined legacy projects of Governor Okowa in housing to include Professor Chike Edozien secretariat Asaba, the state of the art traditional rulers council complex, construction and furnishing of structures in schools, hospitals, and markets.
He said the multi billion naira secretariat currently housing 27 Ministries,Department and Agencies of Government had helped to rake in millions of naira spent on monthly basis on rented apartments to run government offices.
Hon Clark said the people of Ijaw extraction in Delta and other Deltans in riverine communities were impressed with the level of road and bridge construction executed by Governor Okowa led administration in the last six and half years.
He said before the advent of the present administration in Delta, road and bridge construction was viewed as an impossible mission but the Governor despite paucity of fund attracted all projects found in the upland to the creeks.
While saying that the projects had brought enduring peace to oil bearing communities, the Special Adviser called on the federal government to partner Governors of the South South region to address the infrastructural deficit to the creeks where he said the wealth of the nation comes from.
Hon Clark who is a former Chairman of Burutu local government council advised council chairmen to think outside the box and uncover ways to rake in funds to execute projects as the monthly allocation from the federal government has drastically reduced.
He commended Deltans for the support so far given to Governor Okowa and advised them to remain peaceful for the accelerated development of the State in all sectors.
As 2023 draws closer, the Adviser appealed to politicians seeking for elective offices and their supporters to avoid acts capable of jeopardizing the peace agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
