Asagba commends Oborevwori, Dafinone over TETFund intervention in DELSU

The Vice Chancellor of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Prof. Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, has commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Ede Dafinone, for their intervention in restoring Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) support to the university.
Asagba gave the commendation on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on teaching entrepreneurship using effectuation for academic staff of Nigerian universities at the Faculty of Education Conference Hall, DELSU, Abraka.
According to the Vice Chancellor, TETFund interventions to DELSU were halted for about four years following the establishment of additional universities in Delta State, which led to a concentration of interventions in the newly established institutions.
He said the university management subsequently reached out to Gov. Oborevwori and Sen. Dafinone, whose interventions helped to address the situation and restore TETFund support to DELSU.
The Vice Chancellor also commended the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES), Prof. Onos Onoriode Emoyan, and the TETFund facilitators, for facilitating the training, assuring participants that more programmes of similar nature would be organised by the university.
