Udu Council Boss Oyibode Commences Construction of First Modern Farmers Market In Udu.

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Olorogun (Hon), Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA has commenced the construction of the first modern Farmers Market structure in Udu Kingdom.

The project located at the Udu Government Farmland in Ubogo, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, is designed to feature 40 lock-up shops and 40 open shops for farmers and distributors.

Speaking to the media crew of the Council Chairman, the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mrs Benjamin Yarherhe commended the Udu Council Boss Oyibode for his visionary leadership and commitment to grassroots development across the various sectors of Udu Kingdom.

She recalled the earlier approval by the Council Chairman allocating one percent of the Udu Federation Allocation to agricultural development, noting that the initiative is already yielding positive results with the commencement of the modern farmers market project.

According to her, the market will provide a conducive environment for farmers and distributors to sell their agricultural produce directly to consumers thereby boosting local commerce and enhancing agricultural productivity in the area.

She further disclosed that the project design also includes a large warehouse to support modern farming activities and storage needs for agricultural produce.

The Supervisory Councillor described the project as a major step towards strengthening food production, empowering local farmers, and promoting economic growth within Udu Local Government Area.
