Chief Olori Declares Full Support for Oborevwori, Urges Others to Follow Suit
Olorogun Morrison Olori, a respected elder statesman, industrialist, and political leader, has publicly urged potential contenders eyeing the 2027 governorship race to shelve their ambitions and rally behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office. This call comes as part of his reaffirmed support for the incumbent governor ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during a goodwill visit by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to Olorogun Olori’s mansion in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The visit, which underscored the strong bond between the two leaders, also served as an opportunity to review the developmental strides made under Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
Chief Olori commended the governor for his impactful initiatives aimed at accelerating growth and development across Delta State, particularly in the Urhobo nation. Describing the governor’s work as “spectacular,” Olori expressed optimism that the current administration’s efforts would continue to transform the lives of Deltans.
Addressing journalists after the visit, Olori stated, “I hosted him because of what he’s doing in our dear state. His performance is spectacular. What Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is doing across the state and the Urhobo nation is fantastic. It is that joy that made me host him.”
He further appealed to any potential contenders eyeing the 2027 governorship race to gracefully withdraw and consolidate support behind Governor Oborevwori. “Nobody should vote for another person. If anybody has interest in contesting, he should turn it down so that our digital governor can complete his eight-year tenure,” Olori emphasized.
Highlighting the nationwide recognition garnered by Governor Oborevwori’s administration, the elder statesman added, “Mr. President is seeing what he is doing. There is no person in Nigeria that is not seeing what Governor Sheriff is doing. Governor Sheriff is performing 100 percent, and he is doing everything possible to move the state forward.”
Expressing personal satisfaction, Olori shared, “I was very happy when the governor said I was one of his biggest supporters in the state. Everybody knows clearly that I am doing it because of his performance and his activity in Delta State.”
Governor Oborevwori’s visit to Chief Olori’s home further cements the strong alliance between the leadership and traditional institutions in Delta State, a partnership seen as pivotal for sustained progress and political stability.
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the 2027 elections, endorsements like that of Olorogun Morrison Olori are likely to bolster Governor Oborevwori’s chances for re-election, signaling a consolidation of support from key stakeholders within Delta State.
