Ex-Lawmaker Keston Okoro Applauds Delta Speaker’s Unifying Meeting, Backs Tinubu and Oborevwori for Re-election.

A former member of the Delta State House of Assembly and National President of the National Renewed-Hope Movement (NRM), Hon. Dr. Liege-Lord Keston Okoro Muhammad Al-Amin, has commended the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, for convening a historic meeting between past and present members of the State Legislature.

Dr. Al-Amin, who described the meeting as “one of a kind in the history of state legislatures across the country,” said it was a rare platform that fostered deliberations on peace, unity, and development in Delta State.

According to him, the meeting which featured lectures and interactive sessions resembling a symposium
provided an opportunity for both serving and former lawmakers to share experiences, deliberate on issues affecting the state, and chart a collective path toward better governance, peace, and security.

He noted that a vote of confidence was also passed during the session, reaffirming the lawmakers’ commitment to the progress of Delta State, the leadership of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He emphasized that the legislators unequivocally passed a vote of confidence on both the Governor and the President, acknowledging their roles in promoting unity, stability, and development.

According to him, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has demonstrated uncommon foresight and maturity by bringing together past and present members of the House. Such an initiative promotes love, unity of purpose, and mutual understanding. It shows that politics can truly be about progress and people, not division.”

He further lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Minister Festus Keyamo (SAN), and the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Engr. Omeni Sobotie, as well as the College of Leaders led by M. Ortega Emero, for their respective roles in fostering unity and political inclusiveness across party lines.

Dr. Al-Amin described the meeting and its outcomes as one of the dividends of recent political realignments in the state, particularly the defection of key political figures that has strengthened inter-party collaboration and goodwill among leaders.

“What we are seeing now is the fruit of political maturity and reconciliation. The defection and alignment have brought people together with one love and one vision for Delta. This progress would not have been possible without the leadership and commitment of the Governor, the President, Hon. Festus Keyamo, Elder Omene Sobotie, and other leaders who have demonstrated statesmanship,” he said.
