Only God Can Deliver Mankind from Perilous Times– GKS President
By ODEYA OGBETUO
The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun has said that our world has been plunged into perilous times as a result of the negative actions of men.
The GKS president who stated this during the Church 2025 Freedom Day Celebration held at Salem City, GKS Headquarters, Warri, Delta State further said that the actions of men through the sins of disobedience, greed, ritual killings, unnecessary armed conflicts, banditry, fanaticism, unrighteousness, kidnapping, wickedness, idolatry, unholy alliance with satanic forces and avoidable series of wars have brought us to where we are today, assuring that only God Almighty has power to deliver mankind from the present challenges.
Brother Ekundayo Adedokun urged mankind, particularly Christians to always exercise strong faith in God Almighty so as to survive these difficult economic times and present challenges.
In his address entitled: “The Just Shall Live by Faith”, the GKS President noted that “This is the time the devil is intensifying his onslaughts against truth and righteousness and will strive to cause people of righteous inclination to derail”.
Brother Adedokun said that it is when we have strong faith that God, with whom all things are possible, will deliver us from every circumstance, according to His will and show Himself strong on our behalf by His grace.
Brother Adedokun further admonished Christians to maintain their faith in God, not minding the present difficulties as that is the only condition to obtain His favour and the ultimate reward, which is salvation by His grace.
The sermon during the Divine Service held to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ was taken by Brother Progress Ayikimi, a Minister of the Church, and was attended by an unprecedented crowd of members and friends of the Church. Brother Progress Ayikimi re-echoed the Church’s long-held teaching that Jesus Christ was born in the month of October and not December.
In his sermon entitled: Was Christ Born on Christmas Day? Brother Ayikimi who quoted several Bible passages emphasized that Bible Chronology, climatic and historical facts emphatically and unequivocally show that Jesus Christ was born in the month of October.
Other highlights of the celebration included prayers, special thanksgiving to God, musical presentations by the GKS Choir, Warri and various choral groups in the Church. There was also a reception at the GKS headquarters’ playground where those who attended were entertained with refreshment.
The GKS is an international Christian organisation established in 1934 in Lagos dedicated to the preaching of the saving gospel of Christ. The GKS has been commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ in the month of October since the early years of her founding, through God’s instrument, Saint Gideon M. Urhobo.
