Warri South PDP Strengthens Structure Ahead of 2027 General Elections–Pessu

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Richard John Pessu , has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to consolidating its strength and unity as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections. According to him, “PDP runs in our veins,” emphasizing the unwavering dedication of party members across all levels.

Speaking at the first PDP meeting of the year, Hon. Pessu expressed heartfelt gratitude to key stakeholders, including Chief Thomas Ereyitomi , Member representing Warri Federal Constituency; Hon. Dr. Austin Uroye, Member representing Warri South Constituency 1 at the Delta State House of Assembly; political appointees, and other party faithful, for their active participation and dedication to the party’s activities. He also commended the ward chairmen for their relentless efforts in conducting LGA visitations across Warri South, which he described as critical in fostering grassroots mobilization and party unity.

Hon. Pessu extended his appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Warri South LGA, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi, for his unwavering love and support for the party. While addressing the gathering, Hon. Weyinmi emphasized the party’s determination to achieve resounding success in the upcoming elections, stating, “Our interest is to deliver our party 6 over 6 – from the President, Senate, Governor, Representative, and down to the House of Assembly.”

Hon. Dr. Austin Uroye urged party faithful to remain steadfast and united, stating, “We should come together as one so that come 2027, victory will be ours. Let us keep the party flag flying.” His call for unity and resilience echoed the party’s vision of preparing ahead for future success.

Chief Thomas Ereyitomi also reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s cause, reminding members that “we are under the party umbrella.” He commended the party executives and faithful for their hard work and dedication. “We must prepare ahead of 2027,” he stressed, while encouraging all members to stay ready to tackle challenges, whether they come as pre-election or election crises. He further urged the reconciliation committee to continue their commendable work in addressing disputes and praised the Warri South Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi, for his consistent support of the party. Chief Ereyitomi assured members that “in the next general election, all we lost in 2023, we will recover in 2027.”

Chief Dr. Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, a respected leader in Warri South, also lent his voice to the call for unity. He emphasized that a united team is essential for achieving success. “As a team, victory is sure come 2027,” he stated, encouraging party members to set aside differences and work together toward their shared goal of electoral victory.

Hon. Pessu also acknowledged the reconciliation committee, led by Hon. Amah Agbajoh calling for an update on their efforts to strengthen the party. In response, Hon. Agbajor assured the party of positive outcomes, pledging to deliver on their mandate to foster internal unity.

Reiterating the importance of grassroots engagement, Hon. Pessu emphasized that “party business is a serious business,” stating that he regularly moves across the wards alongside party leaders to strengthen the party’s presence and discuss pressing matters. He urged councilors to maintain a close working relationship with their ward chairmen and leaders to ensure effective collaboration at all levels.

With Hon. Weyinmi’s clear goal of a “6 over 6” victory, Hon. Uroye’s call for unity, Chief Ereyitomi’s determination to recover lost grounds, Chief Dr. Otumara’s appeal for teamwork, and Hon. Agbajor’s assurance of successful reconciliation efforts, the PDP in Warri South is poised for unity, resilience, and victory as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
