The Union of Udu Communities (UUC) has formally distanced itself from a controversial publication purportedly issued in its name, describing the statement as malicious, misleading, and unauthorized.

In an official disclaimer released on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the UUC leadership categorically rejected the said publication, which was allegedly attributed to the Office of the Publicity Secretary of the Union. The body stated that the statement did not emanate from any of its recognized organs, including the Executive Committee, National Officers, or affiliated units.

The Union condemned the content of the publication, noting that it contained “baseless allegations and manifest inaccuracies,” and described it as the handiwork of a disgruntled individual seeking to tarnish the image of the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Ovwian, and its management.

Specifically, the UUC dismissed allegations of corruption, job racketeering, and other forms of malpractice leveled against the hospital’s leadership. The Union expressed strong confidence in the integrity and professionalism of the Medical Director, Dr. Kingsley Akaba, and his management team.

According to the statement, the Union remains committed to upholding transparency, accountability, and responsible engagement, stressing that it does not engage in blackmail, character assassination, or the spread of unverified claims.

The UUC further called on the author of the disputed publication to immediately retract the statement and issue an unreserved apology to Dr. Akaba, the management of FMC Ovwian, and the Union. It warned that failure to comply could result in legal action.

Reaffirming its dedication to the development of Udu Kingdom, the Union emphasized its resolve to protect the integrity of institutions within the area and to continue promoting the welfare of its people.

The statement was jointly signed by the President-General of the Union, Olorogun (Evangelist) Andrew Dokie, and the 2nd Vice President-General, Olorogun (Deacon) Nigeria Irorohwo Okorode.
