Ukoko R’Emotọ Pledges Continued Support for Urhobo Language Scholarship Program
The Ukoko R’Emotọ has reiterated its dedication to promoting Urhobo language studies at Delta State University, Abraka, through its annual scholarship programme.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Ukoko R’Emotọ’s President, Prof. Basil Enemute Iwhiwhu, made the commitment at Rev (Dr.) Godwin Ivworin’s birthday/PhD thanksgiving celebration at Christ Missionaries Crusaders’ Church, Abraka.
Noting the association’s past support for Ivworin’s Urhobo studies during his NCE programme and subsequent employment at DELSU, Iwhiwhu assured that Ukoko R’Emotọ will continue to award scholarships to three deserving students annually.
This reaffirmation underscores Ukoko R’Emotọ’s continuous commitment to preserving and promoting Urhobo language and culture.
