Ukodhiko Engages Isoko PDP Women Leaders, Calls for Continued Backing of Governor Oborevwori
…assures of more empowerment for women
Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Sunday, met with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Local Government Areas and Wards Women leaders in the Constituency towards mobilizing more women in support for the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.
The House of Representatives member, said, the meeting was called to thank the party’s women leaders for their continued support to the Governor and its leadership in Isoko.
Hon. Ukodhiko further said, the meeting was crucial in order to foster unity and build a more formidable structure starting from the Wards to the LGA level in Isoko, and to garner more support for the Governor of the State.
He stated that, the Peoples Democratic Party in Isoko is getting more stronger as the leadership and political class are becoming more united by the day, urging the party women to preach unity and peace in their respective wards in Isoko.
The federal lawmaker, thus, enjoined the PDP women leaders “to return to their various Wards, work in unity with the leadership to bring our people together so that next election we can turn out more votes for the Governor and our party, the PDP in 2027.
“You have the capacities to bring out more votes for our Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, who is our dear son-in-law having married our daughter from Iyede, Deaconess Tobore, the First Lady of the State.
Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko also reminded the Women leaders of the party present about the many laudable projects the Governor sited in Isokoland.
“The Governor is building on the legacy of the previous PDP-led government headed by the immediate past Governor of the State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa. He has also given many employments to our teeming youths and graduates.
“Also, the numerous appointments opportunities he has given to our people of Isoko within the short time he has been in office as the Governor of our dear Delta State.
“The Wards leaders who nominated and elected you all for these positions have confidence on you knowing that you are all grassroot mobilizers because you have done it in the past and, you can still do it again for the party.
“Majority of you here worked tirelessly for the victory of all PDP candidates in the last elections. I want to assure you, the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is also strongly behind you all.
“So do not be afraid my dear women leaders. Let us all come together and make our party stronger ahead of the 2027 election.” Hon. Ukodhiko added.
The National Assembly member assured, “more empowerment packages from the Federal and State will definitely be given to you all always to ease your work for the party.
“When you empower a woman, you have empowered a nation. Our women are very productive, loyal and supportive. We are proud of you most especially for your integrity and steadfastness for the PDP. We will continue to empower and strengthen you all at the Ward levels” Hon. Ukodhiko further assured.
Both Mrs Endurance Ibru and Chief (Mrs.) Fome Odunwa, the Women leaders of Isoko North and Isoko South Chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party respectively, appreciated the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency for calling the meeting.
They lauded the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his empowerment schemes to women of the State, and called on him to do more for the women, particularly, to revive Widows Welfare Scheme.
They assured Hon. Ukodhiko of their unwavering support for Governor Oborevwori and the PDP as they would go to their various wards to work harder in unity with all leaders, and mobilise more women of Isoko to support the Governor who has been working for the development of Isoko and the State.
