Ukodhiko Congratulates New DELSU Council Chair, Gen. Ogomudia
Member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has congratulated former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Alexander Ogomudia, on his appointment as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Delta State University, Abraka.
The House of Representatives member, in a statement on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, said the appointment of Gen. Ogomudia was well deserved considering his outstanding leadership qualities and solid intellectual credential.
The Isoko Federal lawmaker appreciated and applauded the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the choice of the distinguished Deltan and Nigerian patriot from Uzere Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area, worthy for the appointment.
Hon. Ukodhiko, who is the Deputy Chairman , House Committee on Science and Technology, expressed confidence in the ability of Gen. Ogomudia to work assiduously for the achievement of the State Government’s human capital development agenda within the scope of the Delta State University (DELSU).
Describing the former Army Chief as an “intellectual with lucid thought, knowledge of global affairs and broad sense of history”, Hon. Ukodhiko noted “Gen. Ogomudia understands the dynamics of Nigerian university system, and he has the required leadership qualities to put DELSU in the league of globally acclaimed centres of academic excellence.”
He said; “on behalf of my family and the people of Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency, I congratulate our leader, iconic soldier-statesman, and former Chief of Defence Staff, Chief (Gen.) Alexander Odareduo Ogomudia (CFR), on his appointment as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Delta State University, Abraka.
“The General, we recall your service as General Officer Commanding, later Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, you helped in no small measure in stabilizing our nation’s democracy and we acknowledge your enormous sacrifice and contributions to the peace and progress of the State and nation.
