Udu Kingdom Set For Historic Celebration As HRM Okporua I Receives Staff Of Office Nov. 7

All is set for a historic day in Udu Kingdom as the Planning Committee for the Presentation of Staff of Office and the entire people of Udu Kingdom joyfully prepare to receive His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, FCIA, Governor of Delta State, who will be visiting the ancient Udu Kingdom for the official presentation of the Staff of Office to the revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, KP, Okporua I, The Ovie of Udu Kingdom.

The grand ceremony is scheduled to hold on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ovie of Udu Palace Ground, Otor-Udu, the traditional headquarters of Udu Kingdom.

This epoch making event marks a significant milestone in the history of Udu Kingdom, symbolizing the formal recognition and endorsement of HRM Okporua I’s reign by the Delta State Government under the visionary leadership of Governor Oborevwori.

The people of Udu, both at home and in the diaspora, are expected to turn out in their numbers to witness the historic occasion, which is expected to attract top government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, political stalwarts, and dignitaries from across the state.

According to the Planning Committee, all arrangements have been perfected to ensure a colourful, peaceful, and well-organized event befitting the pride of Udu Kingdom.
