In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community development, the Udu Free Medical Outreach, powered by Hon. Ekos Akpokabayen in collaboration with the Udu Local Government Council, has commenced its latest phase, targeting aged persons and children across three strategic wards: Owhrode, Ovwian, and Aladja.
The initiative, tagged “UDU FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH for Aged People and Children”, is designed to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to the most vulnerable segments of the Udu population.
The outreach schedule is as follows:
- Owhrode Ward – Tuesday, July 1st, 2025
Venue: Owhrode Town Hall - Ovwian Ward – Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025
Venue: Ovwian Town Hall - Aladja Ward – Thursday 3rd to Friday 4th July, 2025
Venue: Aladja Town Hall
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Ekos Akpokabayen reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of Udu citizens, noting that access to healthcare should not be a privilege but a basic right. He expressed gratitude to the Udu Local Government Council for its robust support in actualizing the programme.
The outreach will feature free medical check-ups, consultation, drug administration, and referral services where necessary. The community is urged to take advantage of this golden opportunity to receive medical attention, particularly the elderly and children.
Residents have commended the effort, describing it as a timely intervention and a commendable gesture that underscores the humanitarian values of the organizers.
