Udu Council Chairman Oyibode Commends Udu UK Union as Free Medical Outreach Gains Momentum
The President of the Udu Union, United Kingdom, Olorogun Ovo Agbodje, alongside Dr. Martins Kediehon of the ongoing Free Medical Outreach team to Udu communities, on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, FCIA, at his office in Otor-Udu.
The delegation, representing Udu indigenes in the diaspora through the Udu Union UK, briefed the Council Chairman on the progress and impact of the free medical outreach currently being carried out across communities within Udu Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, the Udu Council Chairman described the initiative as a commendable act of development and a demonstration of genuine love for the homeland. He noted that the gesture by Udu sons and daughters in the United Kingdom reflects a strong connection to their roots and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of their people.
“It is a thing of joy that our people in the diaspora remember home and bring such impactful interventions to our communities. We sincerely appreciate their efforts and pray that what they are doing will not be in vain,” the Chairman stated.
He further urged the people of Udu to support and appreciate the outreach team, emphasizing that humanitarian initiatives of this nature require collective encouragement and community cooperation to succeed.
The Chairman also prayed for continued blessings, increased resources, and greater prosperity for members of the Udu Union UK, expressing optimism that their efforts would expand to reach even more people in need.
Highlighting the strides made by his administration, the Council Chairman assured the visiting team of a peaceful and secure environment across Udu communities, noting that security remains one of the key achievements of his leadership.
“We have done our best to ensure peace and security in Udu. You are most welcome, and we are grateful for this noble initiative,” he added.
The visit formed part of the outreach team’s ongoing engagements with community leaders and stakeholders as they continue to deliver free healthcare services to residents across Udu communities.
Special appreciation was extended to the leadership of the Udu Union UK led by Olorogun Ovo Agbodje, the Vice President Chief Young Eruenah, the Chairman of the Free Medical Outreach Committee Chief Alex Obar, and the Secretary Mr Peter Kedienhon for their dedication and service.
