Step Into Oborevwori’s Shoes Of zero Tolerance For Shoddy Jobs, Agbi charges Delta contractors
The Special Adviser, to the Governor of Delta State on Project Monitoring and Audit, Engr. Dr. Goodnews Agbi, has charged contractors in the state to adhere strictly to the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation, BEME, during project execution.
Agbi, gave the charge when he led monitoring team to inspect the ongoing construction of Beneku-Kwale Bridge and adjoining roads in Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State yesterday 12th day of February 2024.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the level of work done and frowned at the contractor for poor execution of job on the bridge.
Speaking shortly after inspection tour with members of the team on the bridge and adjoining roads “it’s high time contractors in the state step into the shoes of high taste for quality jobs of His Excellency Rt. Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State and his zero tolerance for shoddy jobs in the overall interest of Deltans”.
“We are prepared to work and inspect with that which is quoted in the BEME, Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation in every project awarded to be executed in the State”.
He also pointed out several areas were the contractor need to make urgent corrections before laying of asphalt and tasked project engineers to always arm themselves with all necessary documents regarding the project whenever inspections are scheduled by the Directorate.
Furthermore, he expressed commitment of the Directorate of project monitoring and audit to the high standard of work in line with the M.O.R.E AGENDA of His Excellency the Governor.
” I’m really not impressed with the level of job supervision and workmanship by the client ministry”. He added.
Agbi, also insisted for contractors in the state on a proper signage of project Bill Boards on project site describing the job to be executed, client ministry and the contractor’s name.
Present during the inspection were Permanent Secretary of the Directorate Mrs. P. O. Esejor, Executive Assistant, EA, to the Governor on project monitoring Mr. Sese Omu, Hon. Raymond Edijala, Executive Assistant, EA, Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to the Govrnor on project monitoring Pastor Kenneth Otuya, Engr. Kenneth Isibor, Senior Special Assistant, SSA, Engr. Chukwutem Adibell, Senior Special Assistant, SSA and Engr. Great Yebu, Directorate engineer among others.
