Onyeme Lauded For Boosting Delta Revenue Base
The Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service Sir Monday John Onyeme has been lauded and commended by the FRSC Commander in Delta State for boosting the Internally generated revenue of the state as well as enhancing the tax bracket.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Delta State, Mr Patrick Okoyeocha who gave this commendations on Friday 30/7/21 during a visit to the office of the Revenue Service Boss noted that the Revenue Service has done so much under Sir Monday Onyeme in shoring up the revenue base of the state as well as the enforcement drive, he said ” On our way coming, we witnessed the enforcement drive going on by the service in ensuring that vehicle owners have their complete particulars and that is a very good one”
While lauding the Leadership Prowess of Sir Monday John Onyeme, his productive strategies and his commitment in ensuring the steady rise in the revenue base of the state, he highlighted some of the challenges faced in some of their offices as he seeked for the service support in curtailing this challenges for effective service delivery. Agbor, Koko, Orerokpe and Patani was amongst areas mentioned.
He revealed that FRSC has commenced Computer Base Test for drivers licence applicants adding that drivers licence applicants in Delta State will only get drivers licence after sitting for a computer-based test conducted by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
According to the statement by the FRSC Sector Commander in Delta State, Mr Patrick Okoyeocha, he said those eligible for the CBT must have graduated from accredited driving schools adding that the CBT was introduced to enhance the integrity of the National Driver’s Licence
“this policy is also to check the unwholesome practices by some driving schools that issue certificates by proxy, without conducting adequate training of applicants” he added.
He said “the results of the CBT test will qualify anyone to have drivers licence and it will contain a body camera that can pick or identify any other person around the applicants to avoid malpractices during the test. He said an applicants who fails the CBT is requested to re-sit after seven days and the exact date of the re-sit will automatically be generated by the CBT application”
Onyeme in his words thanked the Delta State Sector Commander Mr Patrick Okoyeocha for the commendations and the visit, he said his administration as the Revenue Service Boss remains committed in generating more revenue for the state in other for the Okowa’s led administration to shoulder the financial Implications of Projects that will not only announced the state enviable Infrastructures but will have great impacts on the lives of Deltans.
He assured the FRSC Sector Commander that the suggestions raised will be properly looked at and other strategic drive will be employed for effective service delivery.
