Olorogun Amb. Henry Voke Joins Minister Festus Keyamo to Receive Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister in Abuja
In a significant diplomatic engagement, Olorogun Ambassador Henry Voke on Tuesday, July 22, joined Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Barr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), in receiving Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Badr Abdelatty, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The high-level visit marked a pivotal moment in strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Egypt, particularly in the aviation and diplomatic sectors. The visit culminated in the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), initially conceptualized during the International Civil Aviation Negotiation Conference (ICAN) held in 2024.
The newly signed MoU represents a bold strategic partnership between both countries, focusing on enhanced technical cooperation, route expansion, and reciprocal investment in aviation infrastructure. It is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity, economic integration, and innovation in air travel across Africa.
Speaking during the event, Olorogun Amb. Henry Voke commended Minister Keyamo for his visionary leadership and relentless commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s aviation industry on the global map. He described the MoU as a “milestone achievement that sets the tone for accelerated growth, technological exchange, and robust collaboration between Nigeria and Egypt.”
He further noted that such strategic partnerships are crucial to unlocking the full potential of Africa’s aviation ecosystem and driving broader economic transformation across the continent.
The visit and the MoU signing are expected to pave the way for future joint projects and engagements, reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a key player in continental and international aviation diplomacy.
