Ogedegbe Visits Scene Of Tragic Incident In Abraka, Assures Justice

Following the tragic incident that claimed a life in Abraka on Saturday, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP today Sunday, 31/09/25, personally visited the scene of the incident to ascertain the situation and engage with security authorities.

During his visit, the Council Boss met with the Divisional Police Officer of Abraka Division as well as the Captain of the Military stationed in Abraka. Together, they reviewed the regrettable circumstances surrounding the loss of life and deliberated on preventive measures going forward.

Hon. Ogedegbe further paid a condolence visit to the palace of the Ovie of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom, where he formally briefed His Majesty on the situation. He reassured the monarch of the Council’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that justice is served and that such unfortunate occurrences are prevented in the future.

Describing the incident as “sad and unfortunate,” the Ethiope East Chairman vowed that his administration would sustain engagement with all relevant authorities and stakeholders until justice is achieved and the necessary reforms are implemented.

“This loss is deeply painful. We will not rest until justice is done, and we will put every measure in place to safeguard our people from a repeat of this tragedy,” he said.

The visit by the Chairman underscores the Council’s proactive stance in handling sensitive security issues and its commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of lives in Ethiope East.
