Obiodeh congratulates Oborevwori, Deltans on Supreme Court victory
Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Chief Emamusi Obiodeh has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his affirmation by the Supreme Court of Nigeria as the duly elected Governor of Delta State.
The Commissioner in a statement issued in Asaba, on Friday, 19 January 2024, lauded the Justices of the Supreme Court and other judicial organs of the country for doing justice on the matter.
He said the petitions were indeed a waste of time and resources as Deltans overwhelmingly voted for Governor Oborovweri and the PDP in the March 18 2024, Governorship Election in the state.
He called on the opponents to congratulate the Governor on his victory and join hands with him to develop the State in the spirit of sportsmanship.
“On behalf of the Management and Staff of the Delta State Ministry of Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, I congratulate our amiable boss and Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on the affirmation of his victory by the Apex Court of the land.
“I also congratulate our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Deltans who genuinely supported the Governor’s emergence.
“This accurately reflects the preferences of the majority of Deltans who cast their ballots in the State’s March 18 2023 governorship election, their Lordships’ decision upholds the decisions made by the Appeal Court and the Tribunal.
“While we appreciate the Court’s fairness in this case, I implore the opposition candidates to recognise the ruling as accurately representing the interests of Deltans who overwhelmingly supported Governor Oborevwori in the elections.
“It is now time for all Deltans, regardless of their political inclinations, to support our friendly governor in implementing his laudable MORE Agenda for our people now that the legal distractions have been laid to rest.
“Governor Oborevwori has built and inaugurated a number of roads and other massive infrastructural projects throughout the State since May 29, 2023, and he is committed to doing more for the good of all Deltans.
“Along with all of my supporters and followers, I pray that God would continue to favour Delta State and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, enabling them to uphold moral principles and responsible governance for the benefit of our dear state,” A jubilatory Obiodeh stated.
