Nigeria @ 65: Oyibode Extols Founding Fathers, Commends Oborevwori’s Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun(Hon.), Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP, FCIA, has felicitated with the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the good people of Udu, and Nigerians across the globe on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

In his goodwill message, Oyibode described Nigeria’s 65th Independence celebration as a moment of sober reflection, unity, and renewed patriotism. He noted that though the country is faced with challenges, the courage and resilience of Nigerians remain the most valuable resources in sustaining the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers.

According to him, “Independence is not just a celebration of freedom from colonial rule; it is the recognition of the vision and sacrifice of nationalists such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Anthony Enahoro, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and many others who laid the foundation of a united and independent Nigeria. Their dream was for a nation bound by peace, justice, equity and prosperity. At 65, we must keep that dream alive.”

Oyibode commended Governor Oborevwori for his statesmanship and people centered governance, describing him as a patriotic leader whose MORE Agenda continues to translate into visible development across Delta State. He also praised the people of Udu for their loyalty to democratic ideals and unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria.

He charged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united despite current economic and security challenges, stressing that “no nation attains greatness without trials. What makes a nation strong is the perseverance of her citizens, the integrity of her leaders, and the unbroken belief in her destiny.”

While praying for peace, stability, and prosperity in Nigeria, Oyibode reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development in Udu, assuring that he will continue to work in synergy with Governor Oborevwori’s government for the benefit of all Deltans.
