N5,000 Monthly Stipend: Ukodhiko Uplifts 400 Isoko Aged and PLWDs
Member representing Isoko Isoko North/South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has paid N5,000 monthly stipends to 400 aged persons and people living with disabilities in the constituency for the month of July.
The monthly stipends to economically vulnerable constituents is part of the House of Representatives’ member financial scheme designed to cushion the effects of the sufferings of the economic hardship presently in the country.
The July payment held on Wednesday, was the 6th since the commencement in February this year, and the beneficiaries are drawn from the twenty-four Wards of the Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in Delta State.
Speaking at the various Wards during the disbursements of the monthly stipends, Pst. Sunny Elueni explained that, the monthly revolving scheme was aimed at ensuring that the less-privileged in Isoko feel the presence and interventions of the Federal lawmaker in the time of hardship.
According to Pst. Elueni, “The May 29, 2023 removal of subsidy on petroleum products by the Federal Government led to increase in the prices of food stuffs and other commodities in Nigeria and it has brought about severe hardship to the citizenry.”
He stated that, “the member representing Isoko North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ukodhiko through his the UJA Family Foundation (UFF) decided to intervene by giving aged-people and persons living with disabilities monthly stipends.
“Today’s payment for the month of July shows the unwavering commitment of the House of Representatives member to bring succour to the ages people and PLWDs in Isoko-nation by way of ameliorating their sufferings.”
Elueni, a former Secretary to Isoko North Local Government Area Council reiterated that the wellbeing of the people of Isoko North/South Federal Constituency remained the top most priority of Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko as evidenced in the prompt release of funds for the Monthly Revolving Financial Scheme.
