By Moses Darah
The Vice Chancellor of the Delta State University, Abraka, Prof Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga has admonished Nigerians to key into the theme of the Ethiope Delta Baptist Conference, ‘A new dawn for supporting one another’ as one way to ameliorate the economic downturn in Nigeria.
Egwunyenga was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Ochuko Anomohanran at the 10th Annual Session of the EDBC in Calvary Baptist Church, Abraka.
“On behalf of the VC DELSU, Abraka, Prof Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga, I stand here as the DVC (Academic) Prof Ochuko Anomohanran to officially welcome you to the Conference with the theme, ‘A new Dawn for Supporting one another’. The country we are today, we need to help one another, otherwise we are not going anywhere. Helping one another was our tradition. But somehow we have lost it and that is why we are where we are today. The way forward, is that we must embrace the EDBC theme.
“We are glad to have you here. Feel free to go round, visit places. There are a lot of nice places in Abraka. Visit them and see where your children are schooling. Probably, you make see something you will do for Delta State University to make life easier for your children”, he submitted.
