Join Hands With Oyibode To Build Udu – Rukevwe Appeals To Udu Stakeholders.
By FactsReporters.
The President of the Oghior Development Movement (ODM) and Coordinator of the Udu Local Government Council Directorate of Transportation, Comrade Pius Rukevwe, has made a passionate appeal to stakeholders across Udu Local Government Area to rally behind the Executive Chairman, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode JP FCIA, in his quest to rebuild and reposition the council for sustainable development.
Comrade Rukevwe, who spoke recently during an interaction with journalists, commended the Udu Council boss for undertaking palliative works on several deplorable sections of roads within Udu, a move that has brought relief to commuters and residents alike.
He urged residents and concerned groups to desist from embarking on protests over the condition of roads, noting that while peaceful protests are constitutional rights, they often run the risk of being hijacked by hoodlums. He recalled that the last protest led to the destruction of public properties worth millions of naira, a situation that should be avoided going forward.
“There is a right way to express our displeasure. What we need now is synergy and unity of purpose. I appeal to all political leaders in Udu, regardless of affiliation, to join forces with the council chairman to intensify pressure on the Delta State Government to urgently address the deplorable road infrastructure across Udu,” he said.
The ODM President lauded Olorogun Oyibode’s achievements in less than one year in office, highlighting key strides in infrastructural development, tackling insecurity, and providing proactive governance that prioritizes the needs of the people.
“There is hope. Greater days are ahead for Udu. Let us support this administration to take Udu to greater heights,” he concluded.
