I’ll Continue To Attract Development to Delta Central — Dafinone
By Henry Ubus
The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has reaffirmed that his mandate belongs to the people and not to him as an individual. He maintained that he is only holding the office in trust for his constituents who reposed confidence in him through their votes in the last election.
Dafinone gave the assurance on Thursday during a media parley with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, at the Chapel’s Secretariat in Ughelli, Delta State.
The lawmaker disclosed that he has been engaging critical stakeholders, including the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), military authorities, and other relevant bodies, to ensure the release of some detained Okwama leaders by the military.
He further revealed that he has facilitated the building of a strong network of Urhobos working across government agencies in Abuja. According to him, this support structure is now being used to help others secure employment and contracts once properly introduced.
“We are not second-class citizens in this country. If a Director-General or Managing Director from another region is employing 100 people, he will take 90 from his own area. An Urhobo man should not feel afraid to employ 50 when given the same opportunity,” the Senator stated.
Dafinone assured his constituents of his continuous commitment to attract development, promote fairness, and defend the interest of the Urhobo nation at the national level.
