Heineken Lokpobiri Leading Nigeria’s Oil Sector Reforms to the Promised Land — Lawuru
By Philip Onome
National Leader of APC Egbema Kingdom, High Chief Promise Lawuru (aka Ozigizaga) has lauded the Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD, for his pivotal leadership role in driving reforms in Nigeria’s oil sector.
Speaking to journalists during a public function, Chief Lawuru praised Lokpobiri for his strategic efforts that have led to an increase in crude oil production and supply in the country.
He also expressed gratitude towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting a true son of the Ijaw nation to carry out this important task.”
Lawuru noted that since Lokpobiri took office, the perception of Nigeria’s oil sector both domestically and internationally has improved significantly. He highlighted the minister’s proactive approach in conducting high-level meetings and initiating programs aimed at enhancing production and attracting foreign investment in the sector.
He said; “Lokpobiri has successfully translated the reforms under President Tinubu’s administration into tangible outcomes, effectively reshaping the oil sector’s policies and fostering an environment of wealth generation and security for both investors and the Nigerian populace.”
According to Lawuru, the oil sector has experienced noticeable stability, enhanced production capacity, increased investor participation, and a more tranquil environment for exploration activities in the Niger Delta region over the past two years.
He pointed out that Nigeria’s crude oil output has improved modestly, with a record of over 1.8 million barrels per day during the previous administration led by Mele Kyari at the NNPCL, marking a positive trend for the oil industry.
Additionally, he remarked on President Tinubu’s issuance of a groundbreaking executive order aimed at promoting cost efficiency in the oil and gas sector, which has established clear targets for new investments, improved revenue, and greater benefits for Nigerians.
Lawuru further acknowledged the decisive leadership of President Tinubu, which he said has played a significant role in the successes achieved in increasing the current production capacity to 1.8 million barrels per day, including condensates.
