Governor Kefas Unveils Multi-Billion Naira Agricultural Mechanization Project For Taraba Farmers
*** Goal to enhance the former to produce more and earn more
The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas
has launched multi-billion naira 850 tractors, accessories, implements for farmers in the state, with the goal of making the farmers to produce more and earn more.
Speaking at the launch, the Governor said that
the occasion marks a significant milestone in in the journey towards agricultural transformation and food sufficiency as a State, saying it was history-making occasion as it was the first time in the state that the government made a very gigantic commitment to improving agriculture by providing such numbers of farm tractors and implements.
The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Prof Nicholas Oliver Namessan said that; “We are here to commission the first batch of the 850 tractors and their accessories recently procured by this administration. This affirms our commitment to empowering our farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity”.
“The tractors represent more than just machines: they symbolize hope, opportunity and growth. It is in this spirit that we tagged the operation as the “Dr Agbu Kefas Agricultural Mechanization Project”, he said.
According to him; As part of our commitment, we have trained 250 youths who will mount these tractors, repair, and maintain them, this is to ensure their effective utilization. Due process will be followed in the disbursement of the Tractors and they will get to all deserving farmers in Taraba State but will be monitored, closely”.
“To our farmers, I urge you to make the most of this investment. May these tractors increase your yield, improve your livelihood and bring prosperity to our State. Thank you, and may God bless our farmers and our land”, he added.
