Excitement In Oleh As Ukodhiko Flags Off Medical Intervention Programme

The much-anticipated Free Medical Outreach sponsored by the Member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, officially commenced today, Thursday, at the Central Hospital, Oleh, attracting a massive turnout of constituents from across Isoko South and neighbouring communities.

The two-day healthcare initiative, organised by the Office of Rep. Ukodhiko in collaboration with the Federal Cooperative College, Oji-River, Enugu State, and Abeam Global Resources Ltd, is designed to expand access to free and quality medical services for the people.

From the early hours of the morning, residents trooped to the Central Hospital, Oleh, to benefit from the wide range of preventive healthcare services offered at no cost.

The outreach focuses on early detection and prevention of common health conditions.

Services provided include screening for breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, and sickle cell disease, as well as basic eye screening and distribution of free reading glasses. Participants also received expert medical counselling and health guidance.

Medical professionals and support staff were on hand to attend to constituents, conduct consultations, and provide health education to promote healthier lifestyles.

Speaking through his representative, Dr. Abanaba Oghogho, Rep. Ukodhiko reaffirmed his commitment to complementing the Delta State Government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery, particularly in the area of early disease detection and the reduction of preventable illnesses among underserved populations.

He specifically urged men aged 40 years and above to take advantage of the prostate cancer screening, emphasizing that early detection is critical to effective prevention and successful treatment.

The second phase of the outreach will continue tomorrow, Friday, 20 February 2026, at the General Hospital, Ozoro, where a similarly large turnout is anticipated.

Rep. Ukodhiko expressed appreciation to all partners and medical personnel involved in the exercise and encouraged constituents to continue turning out in large numbers to benefit from the life-saving initiative.
