Empowerment Drive: Ukodhiko Distributes Inputs, Cash to Isoko Agripreneurs
The Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Pst.) Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has empowered agripreneurs across his constituency with farm inputs and financial support targeted at fishery and piggery farmers.
The initiative followed a three-day training on modern farming techniques and agribusiness management, aimed at strengthening the capacity of beneficiaries to expand their enterprises and improve their livelihoods.
At the presentation ceremony, each fish farmer received 1,500 juvenile fish, six bags of fish feed, and ₦150,000 in cash support. Pig farmers were granted ₦500,000 each as business support to scale their farms and boost productivity.
Representing Hon. Ukodhiko at the event, Pst. Sunday Elueni urged the beneficiaries to put the support to judicious use, reminding them that “every successful business starts with a small idea.”
He expressed confidence that their success stories would encourage the lawmaker to expand such interventions.
The beneficiaries, visibly elated, praised Hon. Ukodhiko for the empowerment initiative.
Comr. Oke Asaba, Chairman of the Isoko Fish Farmers Association and CEO of VF Fish Production Farm, described the gesture as a “massive boost to agricultural productivity in Isoko land,” noting that it would significantly strengthen local farmers.
Others who spoke expressed deep gratitude to the lawmaker, praying for God’s continued blessings upon him and pledging to make effective use of the farm inputs and financial support to grow their enterprises and contribute to the local economy.
Observers noted that the empowerment scheme demonstrates Hon. Ukodhiko’s commitment to food security, agricultural development, and the growth of small-scale enterprises in Isoko land.
