Ekabo, now Parish Priest of Christ the King, Obiaruku
The Episcopal Vicar for Politics, Public Relations and Government Affairs of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Christopher Ekabo, JP has been transferred to Christ the King Catholic Church, Obiaruku as the new Parish Priest.
In a memo dated Tuesday, June 13, 2023 and signed by the Chancellor of the Warri Diocese, Very Rev Fr Clement Abobo on behalf of Bishop Anthony Ovareyo Ewherido shows that 17 priests were affected by this latest transfer.
Ekabo who is the immediate past Parish Priest of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Uzere has served meritoriously in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sapele; St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Aragba; Holy Family Catholic Church, Edjeba; St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Odion; Our Lady’s and St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Balls Pond Road, London; St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Hackney London; St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ndoni and St Peter’s Catholic Church, Aboh.
Ekabo is the Chairman of the Warri Diocesan Cathedraticum Committee and the Rev Fr Ekabo Foundation.
Ekabo authored the book, “Social justice in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria: Contextualising the prophetic ministry of the church” and served as member of the Delta State 2023 Transition Committee.
The transfer takes effect from Sunday, 1st July, 2023.
