Distinguished Alumnus launches ₦1 Million Endowment Prize For Geology Students In DELSU
Delta State University, Abraka, has been honoured with a landmark philanthropic gesture from one of its distinguished alumni, Mr. Sheyi Money, CEO of Nembe Terminals Ltd. He has instituted the Mr. Sheyi Money Endowment Prize for Academic Excellence, a ₦1,000,000 legacy initiative aimed at recognising and rewarding academic brilliance in the Department of Geology.
The award, to be officially presented during the 2025 Convocation Ceremony on April 26, 2025, includes ₦1,000,000 in cash awards to the best three graduating students in Geology: ₦500,000 for 1st place, ₦300,000 for 2nd place and ₦200,000 for 3rd place. A Special Recognition Plaque to be presented to the Department of Geology in appreciation of their commitment to academic excellence and mentorship.
Mr. Sheyi Money, speaking through his consultant, Mr. Kagbare JW-Borke, expressed his thoughts on the endowment prize, “This endowment prize is my way of giving back to the Department and Institution that shaped me. It is a call to excellence for the next generation of geologists”.
This endowment joins a growing list of alumni-led initiatives fostering innovation, academic growth, and stronger ties between DELSU and its graduates.
