Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Dennis Guwor on Monday, commissioned the remodeled official residence of the chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area.
Guwor said what the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Friday Warri, has done is to compliment the efforts of the state governor in the execution of projects.

He advised that the local government chairman to always consult the people, before embarking on any projects, while ensuring projects are executed according to standard.

The speaker assured the people of the local government area, that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is a promise keeper, noting that the Asaba/Ughelli Expressway is taking a new look, and that the 29 members of the state House of Assembly were solidly behind the governor ahead the 2027 elections.

Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Friday Warri, said he decided to embark on the project due to the absence of a habitable official quarters.

“I am pleased to announce to you that one of the very first things we did, when we assumed office was to meet with all relevant security agencies to make Isoko South a safe place for all.

“Road rehabilitation of varying degrees has formed the fulcrum of our first few months in office. The bad spot of Ogbemudia have undergone repairs, and we are not stopping at that, because we understand that most of our roads are state roads, but they are used mostly by our local people, so we would not ignore the poor state of these roads. We will continue to carry out palliative measures to ease the burden of our road users,” he said.

The chairman also acknowledged that since assuming office, his administration has provided stable solar electricity at the council secretariat, and the chairman’s official residence.

He revealed that the local government council is at the final stage of launching an official website for the local government, adding that the website would help to connect artisans, and professionals with job opportunities, thereby keeping the people productively engaged, and bringing governance closer to the people.
