Delta PDP Candidates will emerge victorious in 2023 – Oghenesivbe

Assistant Deputy Director, Media and Publicity to the Campaign Council Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Chief Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that all candidates of the party, from presidential down to the House of Assembly, will emerge victorious at the forthcoming 2023 general elections, for obvious reasons.

Oghenesivbe gave the assurance while speaking to newsmen at the inauguration of Delta State PDP Campaign Council on Thursday in Asaba, saying that President Mohammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the past seven years mismanaged all sectors of the nation’s economy, incurred huge debts obtained recklessly and which grossly misappropriated.

He said that the good governance strides of the incumbent governor and PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, shall be reechoed during the campaigns from Units to Ward and to local government areas.

Oghenesivbe pointed out that Okowa’s scorecard in seven years and counting is what’s making the candidate of the major opposition party in the State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to be nervous politically, coupled with the fact that APC national government under Buhari and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, cannot point to any major project executed in the state.

“With inauguration of the state campaign council and campaign management committee today, we shall now commence issues based campaign in twenty five local government areas, comprising of three senatorial districts; Delta North, Delta Central and Delta South.

“As we go about our campaign, we shall refer to and point at projects executed and commissioned by governor Okowa.

“We shall also talk about the new State Secretariat which is the best in Nigeria, built by governor Okowa, the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, the underground water tunnels, the film village and leisure park to be commissioned in January next year by incoming President Atiku Abubakar and many more.

“In the same vein, we expect the opposition party candidate, Senator Agege, to mention or point at projects initiated and executed in Delta State by his APC national government under Buhari and Tinubu.

“The last time we checked, the two federal projects influenced by Senator Agege but yet to be executed are; Nigerian Law School in Delta Central and the Federal Polytechnic were taken to his Orogun village and nothing more.

“The M.O.R.E Agenda of our governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, has keen unveiled and it promises to advance Delta State, and bring about; Meaningful development, Opportunity for all Deltans, Realistic socioeconomic reforms and Enhanced peace, security and social harmony,” Oghenesivbe said.
