Delta Guber: Osieta Congratulates Oborevwori on Supreme Court Victory
*says it’s a great victory for Deltans
By Philip Onome
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development Barr. Clement Osieta has congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on the Supreme Court Victory in the Delta State governorship election.
The Supreme Court, led by five justices dismissed the petitions filed by governorship candidates, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Kennedy Pela, of the Labour Party (LP), and Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), challenging Oborevwori’s victory for lacking in merit.
Reacting to the Supreme Court judgement, Barr. Osieta in a statement, described the Supreme court verdict as a ”great victory for all Deltans, saying that he was not surprise that the judgement was given in favour of Governor Oborevwori who won the election fair and square.
According to him, Governor Oborevwori won the March 18, 2023 governorship election convincingly, adding that the judgment was an affirmation of Deltans’ mandate freely given to him during the election.
He said; “With a heart full of joy, I join thousands of Deltans to congratulate our distinguished Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy Sir Monday Onyeme, and our great party, PDP on the judicial affirmation in the governorship election of March 18, 2023. This is indeed a great victory for all Deltans.”
“Our State now needs all of us, to work together to deliver the dividends of democracy for the benefit of all. I therefore urge all Deltans to join hands to support Oborevwori’s administration”.
“PDP won the governorship election convincingly and today the supreme court has spoken loud and clear. This is a sweet victory for democracy and we give the Glory to God”. He added.
Osieta further called on Deltans to continue to support the policies and programmes of Governor Oborevwori’s administration in order to build a greater Delta State.
