Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, has said that his chances of winning the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election is very bright and clearly foreseeable.

Candidate Oborevwori gave the assurance to the party and people of Delta State while speaking to Arise TV News Night on Friday 21st October, saying that his positive popularity and general acceptance by the people, coupled with the enviable performance of the incumbent governor and PDP vice presidential candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, in massive infrastructure and socioeconomic development, he shall defeat his opponents with ease in a landslide victory.

He further asserted that he remained deeply connected to and with the people of the state from top to bottom as an excessive local content politician who had lived with the people all his life, up until now, and still enjoying good times and salvaging bad times with the people across board.

Oborevwori said his victory at the Supreme Court was obviously another divine display of God’s supremacy in the affairs of Delta State and in his life. He dedicated the apex Court victory to God and the good people of the State, and in the same token thanked his political mentor and indefatigable leader, governor Okowa, for his inestimable support, and for having confidence in his ability to step into his big shoes as the next governor of Delta State, come 2023.

The excessive local content incoming governor of Delta State further disclosed that before declaring his intention to contest for the office of governor, he visited former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori and got his blessings to run, adding that now that the Supreme Court has declared him as the duly and validly nominated governorship candidate of Delta PDP, he shall visit Chief Ibori for his support and prayers, as well as visit other aggrieved stakeholders to urge them to come on board his campaign train.

Oborevwori said nobody is good enough to be his enemy, and neither does he have the capacity to declare anybody as his enemy, saying that his hands are widely opened to receive his brother, Olorogun David Edevbie, his political associates and supporters, because PDP is one big and united family and we shall all work together in this electioneering dispensation.

“The Supreme Court judgement in my favour has confirmed that the judiciary is truly the hope of the oppressed and the common man. All the grounds of appeal at the apex Court were resolved in my favour by five justices of the apex Court.

‘I give God the Glory. I dedicated the victory to God and to the good people of Delta State. I thank them for their steadfast love for me, my family and for our great party, PDP. Our God is awesome.

“To answer your question, my chances of winning the forthcoming 2023 governorship election in Delta State is very bright, because I am an excessive local content politician with superb street credibility. I am deeply connected to the people. They are for me, come rain, come sunshine!

“I know the needs, yearnings and aspirations of the people because I have worked closely with my leader and governor of Delta State since 2015, and the people trust me to deliver on my electioneering promises because of my integrity, capacity, competence and experience as the longest serving speaker since the creation of Delta State.

“Furthermore, my colleagues at the State House of Assembly are solidly behind me. They are politically in charge of their constituencies as leaders, and their people have confidence in their robust leadership. They shall mobilize eligible voters for me. Therefore, my chances of winning the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election is very bright and clearly foreseeable.

“PDP is Delta State, and Delta State is PDP. The other political parties only exist to fulfill all righteousness, they have no electoral value in the state. They are politically handicapped, confused and depressed. PDP shall sweep the polls gallantly in 2023 across the 25 local government areas of the state.

“I will again reach out to the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori. I visited him earlier and got his blessings before the Guber primaries. I shall go again to have a father and son discussion with him. He is one of the cherished leaders of our great party, PDP.

*And now that the legal battle is over, I shall also reach out to my brother, Olorogun David Edevbie. We are one big family, and Chief Ibori is one of the founding fathers of PDP. I am very sure he will do everything possible to ensure the landslide victory of our great party next year.

“I don’t think Chief Ibori will abandon PDP, the party that he, Governor Okowa and other leaders laboured to build, to directly or indirectly work for another strange party. No, I don’t foresee that happening at all. He is a core party man and I trust his integrity to remain in PDP and work for her victory in 2023.

‘One of the major reasons why my chances of winning is very bright is the fact that the incumbent governor and incoming vice president of Nigeria, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has performed creditably well in infrastructure development, socioeconomic remodelling, human capacity development, peace and security, wealth and job creation.

“Gov Okowa’s enviable achievements will certainly facilitate my landslide victory in 2023, and I promise to do more and achieve more in advancing Delta State.

“Our governor who is my mentor, leader and political father has done excellently well and I shall build on his enviable achievements, through the instrumentality of the M.O.R.E agenda.

*My M.O.R.E work document is essentially a modernized blueprint which shall enable me to achieve Meaning development for the state, provide Opportunity for all Deltans, achieve Realistic reforms and Enhance peace, security and social harmony in the state and for all Deltans” Oborevwori said.
