CLEANLINESS & SAFETY OF DELTA ENVIRONMENT IS OBOREVWORI’S PRIORITY ~ SAYS ASIUWHU
The Chairman, State taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu JP, alongside the State Head of Service designate , Dr. Mrs Minimim Oseji, Hon. Patrick Ukah, DG Delta State Capital Territory Agency, Management/Officials of Oshimini South Local Government Council and others formed formidable team of supervision and monitoring of today’s last Saturday 28th of March 2025 monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
The initiative of the combine team was to ensure strict compliance of all relevant environmental laws by all delta residents towards achieving the Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori led administration vision for a cleaner, greener and safe environment in Delta State.
The crops of top officials of the state government underscores the committement of the our dear governor priority to the satety and healthy living of its residents, because satety of lives can’t be guaranteed under unhealthy and or polluted/contaminated environment.
However, Residents were advised to cut overgrown weeds, desilt their drainages and keep their environment clean to prevent the spread of diseases, as it is the responsibility of every resident to clean 20 meters radius of their premises.
Chief Asiuwhu advised residents to desist from illegal trading activities in the markets, while traders operating along the tarred roads and walkways are to quit in order to ensure free passage for both vehicles and pedestrians.
Further, he said their actions
underscores the commitment of His Excellence, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori priority in safeguarding public health and improving the quality of life for residents”
Among major highlights of the monitoring exercise was the arraigning of violators who contravaine the environmental laws before mobile court.
