Chief Onos Gasper Ighwre And Wife Spread Generosity In Oghior Community

A wave of joy and gratitude swept through Oghior Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today Tuesday 15/04/25, as a renowned Udu son, Chief Onos Gasper Ighwre, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Johanna Sogalla Ighwre, under their philanthropic organization, the Rainbow Project Foundation, made a substantial donation to the community. The distribution of essential items, valued in the millions of naira, took place earlier today.
The generous donation included baby shirts, shoes, teddy bears, socks, and other essential items for infants, as well as shirts, shoes, and various items for adults. The couple’s goodwill also extended beyond the main distribution event. While on their way to Oghior Community, Chief Mrs. Johanna Ighwre noticed a mother with a newborn entering Ubogo Market. She immediately stopped and presented the mother with several items, including clothes and shoes.
In an exclusive interview with newsmen, Chief Mrs. Johanna Ighwre shared her thoughts on Udu and Nigerian hospitality. She emphasized that Nigerians, particularly the people of Udu, are incredibly hospitable and welcoming. She stated that the mission of the Rainbow Project Foundation is to support the elderly, offer scholarships, and assist the less privileged in society.
Chief Onos Gasper Ighwre, echoing his wife’s sentiments, underscored the importance of giving rather than receiving. As part of the donations, the foundation also provided a scholarship to Miss Favour Okeoghene Nigeria, covering her education from Junior Secondary School 3 to Senior Secondary School 3. Chief Ighwre further showed his compassion when he spotted , Master Destiny Jaku a young boy born with a cleft lip, promising to cover the cost of his surgery.
The event was graced by key figures from the community, including the President General of Oghior Community, Barrister Moses Uchere, and Deacon Nigeria Okorode, former President of Oghior Community and now 1st Vice President General of the Union of Udu Communities. Both leaders expressed their gratitude and called on other sons and daughters of Udu and Oghior to emulate the couple’s magnanimity.
In an emotional moment, the beneficiaries of the donations expressed their heartfelt appreciation, offering prayers for the couple’s continued prosperity and blessings for their selflessness.
Chief Onos Gasper Ighwre is the son of the late, renowned Udu Chief, High Dr. Gasper Ighwre, the Okakon of Udu Kingdom.
