CDHR Leadership Intact, Ignore False Reports – Ex-Executives Warn

The immediate past Secretary a d Treasurer of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR in Delta State, Messrs Chika Maduh and Comrade Collins Ogheneovo Abegha respectively have urges the public to disregard the news making the rounds by the immediate past Chairman of the CDHR, Comrade(Elder) A.P. Edariese that
the CDHR in Delta State has gotten a new Executive to pilot its affairs in the next two years.

This is contained in a statement electronically signed by the duo and made available to Our Correspondent in Warri.

They described the report as,”FAKE NEWS! FAKE! NEWS FAKE!! NEWS!!!”

The former CDHR leaders said,”Please, disregard this fake news as there was no election held on the 15th July, 2025.”

According to them,”It is regrettable that a man of his age (Comr. Chief A. P. Edariese) will be telling such lies. His plans was to bypass the CDHR constitution and use his cohorts as electoral Committee to conduct the elections with just two (2) Units and two (2) other FAKE Units he inaugurated just on the 14th of June, 2025.
But his plans failed.

“(1)He inaugurated the New York Udu Unit 4 on the 14th June, 2025, when he told all the Units to come to his house in Owhase to pick up FORMS for SELECTION for the combined Cdhr Units elections. It has never happened before now in the history of Cdhr that, a State Chairman will conduct a combined Units elections in one day, when these Units were NOT inaugurated the same day. Units elections are been conducted in their various Units Secretariat and they will invite the State Excos to come and observe according to the Cdhr Constitution. What is been done in the National is replicable in the States and down to the Units and nothing more.

“(2).A Secretary of Uvwie Unit 1, Comr. Daniel Ezewele, left his Unit Excos with two (2) unknown members to the past Chairman’s house, pick up the said FORM for selection and he, Comr. Chief A. P. Edariese made Daniel Ezewele a Coordinator and two (2) others, Secretary and Treasurer respectively, on the 14th of June, 2025, in a none existing Unit. When the NEC delegates asked him (Daniel Ezewele) to produce his Unit members, he could not except the FAKE Secretary and the Treasurer.”

The CDHR leaders also stated that the NEC delegates told the immediate past State Chairman during the screening sections to provide his financial records of those he claimed that are the eligible voters, he could not.

“Provide the Registration and Dues monies paid to him either to his personal account or collected Cash as the case may be, he, Comr. Chief A. P. Edariese could not provide the same.

“Members from other Units who refused to pay into the past Chairman’s personal account and also refused to pick up FORMS for SELECTION for the combined Units elections, all came with their evidence of their Dues paid into the State CDHR Account with UBA.

“Despite the attack on the NEC delegates by the hoodlums, we want to appreciate our NEC delegates for all their efforts to make sure that peace reign and also the law enforcement team (Police Officers) for their early intervention sent from the Area Command, Burutu.

“1.for insulting and assaulting the NEC delegates, neglecting the procedure and criteria to conduct a credible election,
deceiving the public and publishing this fake news that CDHR Delta got new excos to pilot its affairs. When the address of where he did his kangaroo selections (In his house @ Owhase) is different from where the Annual Branch Convention/election took place as stated in the invitation card, is a great disgrace on this Organization and something needs to be done to put things right in their places by this Organisation.

“It is also a great disappointment for a former CDHR State Chairman of Ondo State, Comr. Olorunwo Alfred, who claimed to have be sent by the President when two (2) NEC members, Comr. Ekine Henry, National Legal Adviser and Comr. Afees Idris, National Publicity Secretary were already sent by the NEC, left the VICTORY Hotel venue as per the attached invitation card , at about 7.45pm and witnessed the kangaroo hand picked Excos for Delta State? The Ondo State former Chairman needs to be checked.”
