Call for Competence: Constituents Urged to Return Francis Waive To The Green Chamber
With the 2025 general elections drawing near, a renewed wave of support is building across Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency, urging constituents to re-elect Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive to the House of Representatives.
In a compelling opinion published by Dr. Richard Tiki Iyede, titled “A Call to Action: Let’s Do the Needful and Return Hon. Rev. Francis Waive to the Green Chamber,” the lawmaker was praised for his visible track record of developmental projects, legislative competence, and consistent community engagement.
The piece, which has since gained traction among political stakeholders and grassroots mobilizers, describes Hon. Waive as “the best House of Representatives member this constituency has ever produced.”
“From infrastructure to empowerment programmes, education, healthcare, youth development, and electricity projects—his footprint is undeniable,” Dr. Iyede wrote.
The article comes on the heels of the Delta Central Senatorial District’s endorsement of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term, a move that received strong backing from the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state.
Dr. Iyede further urged constituents to “reject untested hands and self-serving politicians who disappear after elections,” stating that “the House of Representatives rewards diligence and visionary leadership.”
He criticized what he termed “entitlement politics” and the harmful effects of the “our turn” syndrome, which he said has “stunted development and reduced democracy to a personal ATM for some office holders.”
“We must begin to prioritise merit, character, and track record over localism and emotional politics,” the opinion declared.
Citing alarming levels of underdevelopment in the region—poor roads, high youth unemployment, inadequate healthcare, and decaying education infrastructure—Dr. Iyede called on voters to rise above mediocrity and return a man who has consistently delivered.
“This is not the time to gamble with mediocrity. Let us unite and return Hon. Francis Waive, a man who has redefined what representation means,” he concluded.
With campaign activities gradually picking up pace, political observers note that the Waive candidacy may once again receive cross-party appeal, buoyed by his performance in office and public perception as a true servant-leader.
As momentum builds, one message seems to echo louder across Ughelli North, South, and Udu: “Let’s do the needful—let’s return Hon. Waive to the Green Chamber.”
