Baptist Women President, Onohwakpor emerges DELSU Librarian

The President of the Women Missionary Union (WMU) of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Dr (Mrs) Eruterio Josephine Onohwakpor has emerged as the new University Librarian of the Delta State University, Abraka.
Onohwakpor’s appointment was confirmed today, Friday, 4th August, 2023 by the Governing Council of the University. Until her appointment, Onohwakpor, an Associate Professor of Library Science, was the Deputy Librarian of the 31 years old Institution.
Onohwakpor obtained an NCE in Music/Religious Study from College of Education, Warri (1985); BA.ED. Adult Education from the University of Lagos, Akoka (1991); MALISC from the University of Ibadan (1998) and Ph.D Library and Information Science at the Delta State University, Abraka (2009).
Onohwakpor who takes over from another seasoned academic, Professor Stephen Osahon Uwaifo, has over 33 scholarly articles in reputable local, national and international journals to her credit.
The administration of the DELSU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga is female friendly. The University parades crème de la crème of female professionals such as Prof (Mrs) Rosemary N. Okoh (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration); Mrs Rufina U. Ufiofio (Registrar); Mrs Otimeyin O. Ekakitie-Omajuwa (Bursar); Prof (Mrs) Ovuevuraye Dicta Ogisi (Dean of Agriculture); Prof Beauty Alloh (Dean of Law); Prof (Mrs) Florence Ngozi Ugoji (Dean of Education) and Prof (Mrs) Enajite E. Ojaruega (University Orator) respectively.
