The Chief Adviser to the Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has commended the State Orientation and Communications Bureau (DSOCB) for its efforts at sensitizing Deltans on the state government’s policies, programmes and achievements.

Chief Amori made the commendation when the Director-General, Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe led the management team of DSOCB on a courtesy visit to his office in Asaba.

Chief Amori praised the Bureau for their proactive approach, noting they were the first to visit him since he assumed office. He lauded their numerous sensitization activities throughout Delta State, with particular emphasis on the recently concluded first phase of the “Drug Free Delta Campaign.”

“That campaign would definitely serve as a turning point for many,” Chief Amori declared. “It was very educative, not only to the students but to us adults present. Let me also say at this point that the Bureau was the first to pay a visit to me after I assumed Office, and your activities across the state have promoted this administration across the country and beyond.”

The Chief Adviser, reflecting on his long and impactful career in Delta State governance, emphasized that his appointment was a natural progression given his extensive experience. He commended the Director-General’s tireless work ethic and dedication to ensuring the government’s activities are widely seen and known. He encouraged all stakeholders to view his office as a valuable link to the government, especially the Orientation Bureau, with whom he is readily available to partner to ensure government initiatives reach every corner of the State and beyond. “I need your support, so this synergy is a welcomed development,” he added.

Senator Amori clarified the broad mandate of his office, stating that it extends far beyond partisan politics or any specific region of the state. “The advice I recommend to His Excellency is not for me but for the good of everyone in our state, which is properly researched and analyzed based on the information I receive,” he explained. “The Governor, as you know, is very busy and doing a lot, as we can all see, therefore he needs the right information in order for him to do more.”

In response to the Director-General’s preview of upcoming Orientation Bureau initiatives, including the “Delta Value Charter” designed to create a value chain for all Deltans and elevate the state, Chief Amori expressed his strong support. “I am willing to support this activity when you start because it would be in line with the MORE agenda of His Excellency, Dr. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori,” he affirmed.

Earlier, Dr. Latimore had commended Chief Amori for his political sagacity and instrumental role in the Director-General’s successes within the current administration. “My political journey so far in this state is the handiwork of Senator, Dr. Chief Ighoyota Amori,” Dr. Latimore acknowledged. “His first official assignment in this state after his appointment as Chief Adviser to the Governor on a Public function was during our flag-off of Drug Free Delta Campaign. This synergy is what I love so much, and I want it to continue.”

Dr. Latimore further emphasized the positive impact Chief Amori has had on Deltans from all walks of life, thanking him for his ongoing contributions to the administration. The Director-General expressed his confidence that the Chief Adviser’s office would continue to assist His Excellency in achieving the goals of the MORE agenda, which is why the Bureau is committed to partnering with the office to effectively disseminate information throughout the State.
