Aladja Grammar School Set For 50th Anniversary Celebration

Aladja Grammar School, one of Delta State’s premier educational institutions, is preparing to mark its 50th anniversary with a three-day celebration from September 27th to 29th, 2024. The school’s notable alumni include the current Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, who represents Udu, Ughelli North, and South in the House of Representatives among others.
The Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Hon. Chief Dr. Henry Sakpra and National President of the Aladja Grammar School Old Students Association, Mr. Andrew Okrakene, made this announcement yesterday Wednesday 25/09/24, while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Warri. They revealed that the anniversary will highlight the school’s illustrious history and contributions to society through its distinguished alumni.
Program Schedule:
- Day 1 (Friday, September 27th):
An interactive session with current students followed by a commemorative road walk by alumni. - Day 2 (Saturday, September 28th):
A lecture featuring esteemed speakers such as Prof. G.G. Darah, Prof. Jomata Igben, Prof. Godfrey Akpojotor, and Mr. Egedegbe Edewor. The event will also include a luncheon, award presentations, and fundraising for school development projects. - Day 3 (Sunday, September 29th):
A thanksgiving service will be held at Holy Trinity African Church, Aladja.
The celebration is under the distinguished Chairmanship of Double Chief Wilson Ejeben, CEO of Wiltro Oil Nigeria Limited. The event’s distinguished guest of honor will be H.E. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, while Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive will serve as the special guest of honor. Hon. Dr. Joseph Ikpea will also grace the occasion as a guest of honor. The guest speaker for the lecture is Prof. G.G. Darah, with Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, is the chief host. The Royal Father of the Day is HRM Barr. (Dr.) Emmanuel Bethel Otete Delekpe, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom.
Alumni and friends of Aladja Grammar School are expected to gather in large numbers to celebrate the institution’s remarkable legacy and raise funds to further develop the school.
