Udu Kingdom Rejoices: New High Chiefs Take Office as Peace Prevails

Udu Kingdom, January 12, 2025 – A momentous occasion unfolded on Saturday, marking a major milestone for the Udu Kingdom as the Ovie, HRM Barrister Bethel Delekpe, Owhoru the First, officiated the confirmation of 13 new high chiefs. This historic ceremony, held at the temporary palace at Aladja signified the end of long-standing disputes that have disrupted peace and unity within the kingdom.

The newly appointed high chiefs are poised to play a vital role in restoring stability to the Udu community after years of tension. Notable figures among the confirmed chiefs include Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, who has been recognized for his leadership as Chairman of the Udu Local Government and is now honored with the title of Ejomafuowho of Udu Kingdom. Another distinguished appointee is Olorogun Austin Emaduku, Dean of the College of Head of Personnel Management, now known as Okrika of Udu Kingdom.

In a heartfelt address, Olorogun Oyibode emphasized the significance of unity and solidarity for the kingdom’s progress. “Today is a celebration of our renewed peace, harmony, and progress within Udu Kingdom,” he declared. He urged residents to regard the authority of the Ovie as legitimate and to come together for the betterment of the community, warning against any attempts to disrupt this unity.

Also in attendance were key dignitaries, including Honourable Chief Peter Uviejitobor, State Commissioner for Oil and Gas and Acting President General of the Union of Udu Communities (UUC), who expressed his elation at the resolution of conflicts and highlighted the promise of future development in Udu Kingdom.

The event drew Udu sons and daughters from both near and far, all of whom praised Olorogun Oyibode for his unwavering dedication to fostering unity and peace. His leadership is expected to create a solid foundation for progress and development within the kingdom.

The ceremony was further graced by the presence of the Ovie’s wife, the Otota of Udu, High Chief Samuel Odibo, and other esteemed members of the Udu Traditional Council, showcasing a revitalization of community spirit.
