Historic Vote of Confidence: Udu PDP Applauds Oyibode’s Developmental Strides

In a demonstration of party unity and confidence, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State has unanimously endorsed the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA. The endorsement came during the party’s final gathering of 2024, held on December 23rd at the party Secretariat in Otor-Udu.

The meeting, which drew prominent party officials and stakeholders from across the region, marked a significant moment of political solidarity. Party Chairman, Rt. Hon. Evangelist David Siloko presided over the proceedings, where former PDP Chairman, Hon. Prince Sam Ughujowhovwo Aka CBN initiated the confidence vote, promptly seconded by Rev. Adaighofua Ogolo, the party’s treasurer.

In his address, Chairman Siloko highlighted Oyibode’s transformative impact on the local government since taking office. “The developmental strides under Chairman Oyibode’s administration have been remarkable,” Siloko noted, pointing to several ongoing infrastructure projects within the Council Secretariat and the strategic acquisition of vehicles for council operations. The chairman also acknowledged Oyibode’s recent contribution of 130 bags of rice to support party members during the festive season.

Responding to the endorsement, a visibly moved Oyibode credited Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA initiative for setting Delta State on an accelerated path to development. He specifically praised Siloko’s transparent distribution of the Christmas Packages to party faithfuls.

Taking the opportunity to address political appointees, Oyibode emphasized the importance of community engagement and party loyalty. “Your positions come with responsibilities to your wards and communities,” he stated, urging appointees to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the party’s values.

The council chairman’s presentation of his administration’s achievements drew enthusiastic applause from attendees. Looking ahead, Oyibode revealed ongoing discussions with potential investors from the United States and United Kingdom, signaling promising developments for the local government area.

“Our commitment to implementing Governor Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA remains unwavering,” Oyibode assured the gathering, “and we are actively pursuing partnerships that will bring substantial benefits to our people.” While specific details of the international investments remain under wraps, the chairman’s announcements suggest significant economic opportunities on the horizon for Udu Kingdom.
