Ukodhiko Hails Delta’s Progress, Congratulates Oborevwori On State’s 33rd Anniversary

Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Deltans on the 33rd anniversary of the State’s creation.

The House of Representatives member in a statement, on Tuesday, appreciated former Nigerian military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida for creating Delta State 33 years ago.

According to Hon. Ukodhiko, “The creation of Delta State on August 27, 1991 was a culmination of decades of relentless agitations by the people to have a State of their own.”

The National Assembly member saluted the foresight, vision, courage and patriotic spirits of the founding fathers and leaders of Delta State who vigorously canvassed for its creation.

While acknowledging the contributions of past military and civilian administrations’ contributions to the growth of Delta State, Hon. Ukodhiko stated that, Governor Oborevwori is building on the foundation laid, and consolidating through his MORE Agenda.

The Isoko Federal lawmaker remarked, “Delta State in the last 33years has witnessed phenomenal strides in all sectors, and I commend the people of the State for their patriotism, resilience, dedication, sacrifices and commitment

“Delta State is made up of different ethnic nationalities, languages and cultures; the Urhobo, Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri, Ika, Anioma and Ukwuani with people of other ethnic-groups who live and do businesses in the State.

“Our State is blessed with natural resources. Our people, ever accommodating, famously known for their brilliance, intellect, creativity, resourcefulness, have excelled in all fields of human endeavors and, are icons of achievements and innovations.”

In his words, “I write to congratulate Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the people of Isoko North /South Federal Constituency and Deltans on the 33rd anniversary of the creation of our dear State, the Big Heart of the nation, on August 27.

“Fellow Deltans, it is another year of greater exploits and remarkable accomplishments in the history of our dear State. We are proud of how far we have come and we look forward in unity for greater days are ahead of us all.

“As we celebrate, I must urge us to continue to promote the spirit of unity in diversity as all ethnic groups have a common history even as I enjoin all political and religious leaders to promote trans-ethnic consciousness and religious tolerance.

“To my dear people of Isoko-nation, be assured as your collective aspirations of good Bills and more dividends of democracy through my representation in the House of Representatives will be realised.” Hon. Ukodhiko assured.
