Udu Council Chairman Oyibode Dissolves All Revenue Committees

Udu, Delta State – In a significant development, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, has announced the immediate dissolution of all standing Revenue Committees in the Local Government Area. This decision, effective as of today, Thursday, August 8, 2024, was conveyed through a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Comrade Henry Ubus.

The dissolution impacts all members of the Revenue Committees, who have been instructed to return all government properties, including council receipts, to the office of the Secretary to the Local Government within the next 24 hours.

Chairman Oyibode has issued a stern warning to the affected members, prohibiting any further collection of revenue on behalf of Udu Local Government Council. He emphasized that any unauthorized revenue collection will be considered illegal, and those involved will face prosecution by law enforcement agencies.

In his statement, Chairman Oyibode expressed appreciation for the efforts and contributions of the Revenue Committee members towards the development of Udu Local Government. He also assured that a new committee will be inaugurated soon to continue the work under the administration’s renewed focus on transparency and accountability in revenue collection.

Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, have been notified of this directive and are expected to enforce compliance, dealing decisively with any individual or group that defies the government’s orders.

This move marks a crucial step in the local government’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and ensure proper management of its revenue collection processes.
