By Ajiri-Oghene Oreh
Member representing Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has concluded a free-training on the Computer Based Test (CBT) for candidates of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in the Constituency.
The training which included orientation talks and CBT tests for the candidates was held from 6th of April to 13th of April, 2024 and it was sponsored by the Isoko Federal Lawmaker’s UJA Family Foundation domiciled in Erawha-Owhe in Isoko North Local Government Area.
According to Rep. Ukodhiko, “the free-training was organized to expose the candidates from Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency to Computer Based Test (CBT).
“The beneficiaries came from the two Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency, that is, Isoko North and Isoko South. And we provided free transportation to and fro for them with free feeding, everyday.”
He explained, “Hitherto, most of the students have not had the opportunity to operate a computer set. Hence, we deemed it fit and necessary to organize the training for the students to be familiarized with the computers and how to use it advantageously to enhance their proficiencies.”
The House of Representative member stated, “This is the first of its kind of impactful initiative and innovation carried out in line with our electioneering campaign promises to the people of Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency.
“Much earlier, we enrolled 400 candidates for free for this year’s UTME, and we also made an unbreakable pledge to sponsor five candidates with the highest scores in the examination to prestigious private universities in the country.
“As the people’s representative in the National Assembly, Abuja, I’m utterly committed to the educational advancement of Isoko ethnic-group and the human capital development of my dearly beloved constituents.
“With the knowledge acquired from the free-training, the many orientation talks and of course, the various CBT test taken, I am quite convinced the candidates are already prepared for the decisive moment of their examination which begins this week.
“Their memory will serve them right. I am optimistic they will do their best and they will pass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) successfully in flying colours.” Hon. Ukodhiko prayed.
The beneficiaries of the one-week free CBT training were full of praise and appreciation to the Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko and his UJA Family Foundation for the opportunity given to them to be exposed and garner more knowledge preparatory to the examination.
They expressed delight and were in excitement after the training, promising to work very hard and read voraciously to pass the UTME successfully and make Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko proud.
